Silencio Black, the younger sister of the Silencio Red Dot

The Silencio Black cigars were launched around a year after the classic Silencio Red Dot. A striking design feature – the red dot in the letter ‘O’ – is likely to be familiar to many cigar enthusiasts. In the USA, this red dot adorns the ‘O’ in the Cohiba logo. However, due to trademark restrictions, these cigars cannot be sold in Europe under their original name. Consequently, the brand was renamed Silencio for the European market. In this country, Cuban brand names such as Havanna, Vuelta Abajo, Cohiba and Montecristo may only be used for products that are actually produced in Cuba.

Silencio Black: A flavourful experience for the discerning aficionado

The parent company, Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG), and its distributor, General Cigars, were convinced of the blend’s success in the US and recognised its potential for the European market. Thus, the Silencio Red Dot cigars were first launched in the summer of 2021, followed about a year later by the Maduro variant presented here, the Silencio Black.

The flavour profile of Silencio Black cigars

The Silencio Black cigars offer a multifaceted flavour experience with notes of earth, coffee, leather, pepper and dark chocolate. A US broadleaf is used as the wrapper. Beneath this lie Dominican Piloto tobaccos and a robust filler blend of Dominican, Mexican and Nicaraguan tobaccos.
