Premium cigar
The mythical creature, the griffin, served as the source of inspiration for these exclusive cigars and also adorns the elegant white cigar band. Oettiger/Davidoff produces and distributes these premium cigars, which are also crafted by the renowned Henrik Kelner, the creator of Davidoff. The griffin is the heraldic animal of the Griffin’s Club in Geneva, founded by Bernard Grobet. From 1984 onwards, the cigar enthusiast and club owner had cigars produced exclusively for his club; due to their popularity, these were eventually distributed internationally, beyond Geneva and Switzerland.
The Griffin’s Classic is one of the best-known brands from the Dominican Republic.
Very mild in flavour and recommended as a starter cigar, it is made from three different tobacco varieties and features a typical Connecticut wrapper. The Classic offers mild cigars with very delicate and balanced flavours. All sizes in this range are characterised by a typical herbal flavour with slightly creamy, sweet notes. Superbly crafted and offering excellent draw – typical of all Davidoff products! The filler tobaccos come entirely from the Dominican Republic, are held together by a binder from Peru and finally wrapped in a wrapper from Ecuador. The mild character of this cigar makes it ideal for pairing with lighter, sweeter rums or milder whiskies. When unlit, the cigar imparts a slight bitterness on the lips, combined with subtle earthy and woody notes. Once lit, this gives way to floral, herbal and moist notes. In the second and third thirds, the Gran Robusto develops increasing complexity and harmony. mild und fein
hatte mit dieser zigarre einen sehr angenehmen milde smoke.
Sie ist sehr mild und fein subtil in den aromen . passt hervorragend nach dem essen zu einem café, rum oder auch zu einem gin tonic. behält den platz im hummidor.

Never again!
Diese Zigarre war ein Reinfall. Schon der Anbrand war extrem aufwending und mehrmals notwendig. Das Umblatt ist gleich zu Beginn auf der ganzen Länge an mehrern Stellen aufgebrochen. Der Filler kam zum Vorschein und sah aus wie eine H...se!
Der Zug war zu keinem Moment vorhanden und die Rollung war dermassen eng das kein normaler Zug ausreichte um überhaupt etwas Glut resp. Rauch zu erzeugen. Geschmack war durchschnittlich. Never again!

Meine lieblings Zigarre
Diese eher preiswerte Zigarre ist sicherlich auf der milderen Seite. Allerdings eine sehr aromatische hervorragende Zigarre die man auch gut vormittags rauchen kann. Ich würde die jedem Einsteiger wärmstens empfehlen und das gilt für alle Griffin's Classic.

Geschmacklich gut, aromatisch, aber vielleicht etwas sehr mild
Ich hatte beim Zigarrenversand.ch einige Griffins Classic Perfecto und einige Davidoff Aniversario Short Perfecto bestellt. Die Griffins sind im direkten Vergleich etwas milder, dennoch aromatisch, dafür wirkten sie etwas unausgewogener als die Davidoff. Bei den Davidoff hatte ich das Pech, das zwei von drei Zigarren nicht richtig Zug hatten, was sehr selten ist bei Davidoff - Produkten. Die Griffin ist preislich günstiger und kommt aus dem gleichen "Konzern" wie die Davidoff. Daher waren die vier Griffin's Classic Perfecto ein sehr guter Kauf.
