Good smoking characteristics and a robust flavour profile
As described, the burn was very even and steady, the draw was pleasant, and when tapping the ash, it fell cleanly and compactly. Added to this is a lovely, generous smoke volume, which makes the smoking experience even more enjoyable.
In terms of flavour, the cigar largely lives up to what the description promises. The profile is mild and slightly creamy, accompanied by a subtle spiciness that never feels intrusive or aggressive.
I found the slight fruitiness interesting. To me, it had a subtle bittersweet component, combined with citrus notes that at times reminded me of papaya. Added to this is a typical Honduran depth, which lends a little more character to the otherwise rather mild profile. In the very background, very subtle diesel-like aromas can also be detected, which round off the flavour profile without becoming overpowering.
I’d love to give this 5 stars, but those are reserved for cigars that I consider perfect. So I’m awarding a solid 4 stars.
Note: In the final third, you shouldn’t draw too hard on the cigar, as it will otherwise become too hot and possibly unpleasant.
