The history
Some people are happy simply to get from A to B. Steadily forwards, straight ahead, without getting distracted, but heading straight for their destination. Whilst others want to experience everything from A to Z and take every detour that takes their fancy.
Thoughts are free and all doors are open. Who knows what the day or night may bring? Or what opportunities life may open up.
In his search for the finest tobacco, he let the wind guide him. It is this uncompromising commitment to quality that makes these ‘ Zino ’ cigars so exceptional.
The idea
Zino had a lot in common with today’s younger generation. They, too, are open-minded, seek out experiences and adventures, and go through life with their eyes wide open, living life to the full.
The new ‘ Zino ’ cigars are ready for the task. They surprise with a balanced blend of Central American and Caribbean tobaccos that are both exciting and pleasant.
The flavour experience
First third: The cigar opens with pronounced notes of fresh pepper, particularly on the retronasal palate. A long-lasting finish with notes of cedar and coffee.
Second third: The peppery notes give way to pleasant salty flavours. Aromas of salted nuts, leather and cream are present. The cigar becomes more balanced and develops a creamy character.
Third third: It’s incredible how the flavours continue to develop into latte, spices and dark chocolate. The cigar does not become any more intense and leaves a pleasant aftertaste.
Cigar construction
Filler: Olancho Visus Jamastran Visus from Honduras, Ometepe Visus from Nicaragua, San Vicente Seco and San Vicente Mejorado Seco from the Dominican Republic
Binder: Semilla 56 Seco from Nicaragua
Wrapper: Connecticut Ecuador
Pairing recommendations
Traditionally: To complement the robust and spicy notes of the ‘ Zino ’ cigars, pairing them with a Nicaraguan or Cuban rum is a sure-fire choice. The spicy and sweet character of the rum brings out the cigars’ flavours perfectly.
Unconventional: A craft beer that delights the palate with deep, malty flavours is the ideal counterpart to the spicy and creamy character of the ‘ Zino ’ cigars.
Other sizes
In addition to the Zino Nicaragua Toro , the ‘Zino ’ Nicaragua Robusto and ‘Zino ’ Nicaragua Short Torpedo are also available.

Top quality
Excellent ‘ Davidoff ’ quality for a 35–40-minute smoke! Pleasant flavour, mild and sweet. Burns well and evenly. Always a staple in my humidor

Comfortable but not boring
I’m a new cigar smoker, switching from cigarettes. I generally prefer the milder Dominican cigars, with ‘ Davidoff ’ being my benchmark so far. As far as I can personally taste and distinguish, this is very close to ‘ Davidoff ’ experience at about half the price. It doesn’t punish enthusiastic smoking – no mouth bite or throat irritation – and lets me retrohale without overwhelming my nose, yet it’s pleasant on the nose and in the room. I highly recommend it to anyone who isn’t looking for strong spice and a punchy flavour.

In a nutshell
Short and sweet. Pleasant and easy to smoke, ideal when you don’t have much time to spare, excellent value for money with the quality you’d expect from Davidoff.

The Mild One
This is the mildest variant of the ‘ Zino ’ from Nicaragua, which is why I like it best. I’d classify it as being at the lower end of medium strength. The flavour is quite linear. Crafted to ‘ Davidoff ’ quality standards. When smoked at a leisurely pace, it lasts for 30 minutes.

Perfect for a quick smoke
I don’t like the taste as much as the Zino, but the Robusto is still a bit of fun.
Perfect for a quick smoke, because all you need is a lighter.
