The lighter isn’t working!
If your Jet lighter won’t light, it could be due to the following:
- The lighter has no gas. Lighters are usually dispatched without gas and must be filled first. If the lighter has a fuel gauge, you can check the gas level. Otherwise, you should be able to hear the gas flowing out.
- The gas flame is not adjusted correctly. The flame on jet lighters can be adjusted. If it is set too low or too high, the lighter will not ignite. First, set the flame to the lowest setting. Then gradually increase the flame a little at a time. Incidentally, a jet flame does not need to be large; a flame 5–10 mm high is sufficient.
- If the lighter ignites sporadically, it needs to be vented. To do this, the gas tank must be completely emptied by pressing the gas valve – which is used to refill the lighter – inwards with a pointed object. Once the lighter is completely empty, it should be lit a few more times. Then fill it with lighter gas for a few seconds.
If the lighter still does not work after these three steps, it will need to be returned. The best way to do this is to contact us using the form ‘Defective Product’.
