Bongani 458 Short Gordo

The Bongani is currently available in three sizes: as a classic Robusto, as a Toro and, most recently, as a Short Gordo – known internally as the Short 458. Bongani is a relatively new brand and one of the first premium cigars from Africa.

Remarkably mature and well-balanced

You can certainly tell this about the Bongani. Fortunately, no attempt was made to create an overly distinctive blend with an exotic flair, aimed at appealing to just a handful of connoisseurs. Instead, the focus was very much on solid craftsmanship, resulting in a cigar that simply hits the spot. It’s intriguing enough for a cigar with a pioneering character, yet pleasantly balanced in aroma and flavour. The tobaccos, particularly the Cameroonian wrapper, are excellent and are every bit as good as those from the big brands. The price is absolutely reasonable, and anyone looking to treat themselves to something a bit different from the ‘Caribbean mainstream’ will get their money’s worth!
