Guantanamera – A brand with musical roots and a Cuban heritage
The name ‘Guantanamera’ is known worldwide thanks to the famous song of the same name, written in 1928 by the Cuban musician Joseito Fernandez. The song, which achieved international success in the 1960s, represents Cuban culture on the global stage and has given the cigar brand a distinctive image.
The production of Guantanamera cigars
Launched in 2002 at the Inter-tabac trade fair in Dortmund, Guantanamera cigars are synonymous with high-quality, machine-made cigars from Cuba. Produced in a modern factory in Havana, Guantanamera uses tobacco from the Vuelta Arriba, Cuba’s second most important tobacco-growing region. This region is renowned for its rich soil and ideal climate, which produce tobacco of exceptional quality. Guantanamera cigars are known for their approachability and consistency, making them particularly popular with beginners.
New design and international recognition
Since the second half of 2012, Guantanamera has been presented in a new design that gives the brand a fresh and modern look without neglecting its Cuban roots. This rebranding has helped to strengthen the brand’s presence on the international market and to combine traditional values with a contemporary approach.
