Matilde Oscura Grande

The Matilde Oscura is a combination of Dominican, Nicaraguan and Pennsylvanian filler, held together by an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and presented with a strong San Andreas wrapper. It produces amazing notes of black and white pepper with a balanced sweetness. Over the course of the experience, wood flavours and partial coffee aromas are added. The flavour seems to open up with every puff and develops into new layers of complexity. This cigar is therefore an exciting journey through different flavours.

One of the oldest cigar brands in the Dominican Republic

Matilde was founded in Santiago de los Caballeros in 1876 and was one of the first tobacco companies in the Dominican Republic. However, operations were discontinued in the early 1900s. In 2014, the brand was revived by the Seijas family. Its first line, the Matilde Renacer, immediately made it into the top 25 best cigars of 2014 and was awarded 92 points.
