Partagás Cedros Year of the Snake – Origin & Edition
This special edition is a totally handmade, long-filler cigar produced in Cuba. It is crafted from selected tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo (Pinar del Río) – the island’s most famous tobacco-growing region. The edition celebrates the Year of the Snake (Wood element) whilst also honouring the importance of wood in the ageing and transport of fine Habanos. Each box contains 18 cigars and is equipped with NFC technology for authentication – a modern touch amidst classic craftsmanship.
Vitola, size & presentation
The vitola bears the factory name Dignos and measures 135 mm × ring gauge 50 (Grand Robusto). The edition is presented in high-gloss, red-and-gold lacquered boxes with a snakeskin texture. In addition to the classic Partagás band, each cigar features a zodiac-inspired footband with a snake motif – a subtle, stylish distinguishing feature. A total of 18,888 boxes have been produced worldwide – a highlight for aficionados and collectors.
Flavours & Smoking Experience
As it is smoked, the Partagás Cedros Year of the Snake reveals a robust yet balanced profile: it opens with a distinct note of dark Cuban tobacco, followed by cocoa and oak, underpinned by a dense smoke texture and a long, clean finish. Depending on the pace of smoking, the smoking time is around 45–50 minutes. We recommend pairing it with an espresso, a barrel-aged rum or a full-bodied single malt with subtle vanilla and nutty sweetness – this brings out the woody and chocolatey facets of the Cedros particularly well.

Enttäuschend
Ich geniesse sonst gerne die Standardformate von Partagas und ich schätze deren individuelles Aromenprofil. Bei dieser Vitola habe ich mich wegen der besonderen Positionierung des Produktes auf ein gehobenes Erlebnis gefreut. Leider begegnete mir ein Exemplar mit deutlich weniger Charakter als Partagas mir sonst bietet. Milder hatte man mit angekündigt, aber das sollte nicht automatisch flacher bedeuten. Durch die gesamte Brenndauer entwickelte sich aus den schwachen Aromen, deren Elemente schwer auseinanderzuhalten waren, mit einer nicht angenehmen fast „benzinigen“ Note zu Begin keine Steigerung mehr. Vielleicht, ohne zu zynisch werden zu wollen, das richtige für den chinesischen Markt, wo eher gehandelt und spekuliert als geraucht wird. Ich freue mich auf die nöchste no 4.
