Romeo and Juliet
DESCRIPTION
1000 flowers...The name is a little misleading. Sweet floral aromas are only perceived at the beginning. Afterwards, typical brand flavours of wood and earth come to the fore. The Mille Fleurs is easy to smoke, without great demands and has a pleasantly regular burning behaviour. A cigar that is also highly suitable for beginners. Not only because of the price...
Romeo y Julieta - in production since 1875
The origins of Romeo y Julieta cigars, named after William Shakespeare's tragic lovers, date back to 1875. The brand came to international fame in the early years of the 20th century under the direction of Don "Pepin" Rodríguez, a talented promoter who was one of the first to recognise the power of the cigar band. In his heyday, no fewer than 20,000 different bands were produced.
Today, Romeo y Julieta cigars are as well known around the world as ever and offer the widest range of cigars.

Unfortunately, too many faults (unsmokable)
The flavour is excellent if you get a well-made one.
Unfortunately, however, this isn’t the case in over 50% of instances!
I’ve now had 8 in a row with burn holes or rolled far too tightly. (unsmokable)
That’s unfortunately not even an exaggeration.

Overall, not convincing
Flavour: Very good. An intense, robust bouquet at the start. A rounder, pleasant finish.
Burn: Terrible; the cigar went out twice. In fact, apart from constantly correcting the uneven burn, I was mostly busy trying to keep the embers alight. Not quite what I’d hoped for. I’d like to be able to leave a cigar alone for 30–60 seconds at some point. Unfortunately, this was anything but a relaxing experience.
It may have been a one-off, but I’ll give this cigar a miss in future.

OK cigar
Not too strong, also suitable for a quick smoke between meals. Burns very evenly.
Rolled a bit tightly, but otherwise good.
The draw is too tight because it’s rolled so tightly.
If you like a bitter, slightly scratchy flavour, this is just the thing for you.
I wouldn’t smoke it again.
55 mins’ enjoyment.

A good cigar for a lovely evening
The Mille Fleurs is one of my Romeo y Julieta favourites. Although it’s slightly smaller than my usual cigars due to its Petit Corona size, it still offers a good smoking time. Throughout the smoke, there are sweet notes that reminded me a little of cinnamon and flowers. It isn’t strong, which makes it a good match for a lighter drink (I recommend pairing it with a cider – apple or strawberry!). The price is reasonable too. It’s perfect for a summer’s evening, enjoyed as a final treat with a drink.

So-so quality
A good cigar if you’re short on time! Unfortunately, it requires an extremely strong draw and isn’t comfortable.
The first third was OK, but the rest wasn’t particularly exciting.

Excellent value for money; draw quality varies
The draw varies considerably; sometimes a gentle puff is enough, whilst at other times a firm draw is required to prevent the cigar from going out. The high density also means that the smoke is unpleasantly cool. But overall, a lovely cigar which, when enjoyed mindfully, offers a good 45 minutes of pleasure.

An OK cigar, but most of the ones in the box were hard to draw on!
I’m a fan of Romeo & Julieta cigars, but most of the cigars in the box were very difficult to draw on – I’m not sure if it was a batch issue or not, but most of them didn’t provide a pleasant smoking experience at all! My humidor maintains a consistent humidity level, so there were no issues with storage – I won’t be buying these again

A good cigar
A good Cuban cigar, with an easy and consistent draw and moderate strength right to the very end! The flavour is subtle, with notes of toast, wood, vegetation and a creamy sweetness, yet delicate enough to make it perfect for beginners. Tasting time: approx. 45 mins.
Good value for money.

Inconsistent quality
I had a box of them, but unfortunately there were a lot of faults. Stiff resistance, perforated tape, etc. – I’ve switched to the ones from Partagas
