The final recipe comprises twelve regional botanicals and four classic ones, including Macedonian juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice root, fennel seeds, Buddha’s hand, lotus blossoms, Saigon cinnamon, green and black cardamom, lemongrass, lemon peel, dragon fruit, star anise, bird’s eye chilli and Phu Quoc peppercorns.
Elaborate craftsmanship and European technology
Saigon Baigur Dry Gin is produced at the District 9 Distillery, combining traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology. A handcrafted Carterhead copper still imported from Europe was used for the 24-hour maceration, distillation and steam infusion of the botanicals. This meticulous production technique ensures that every drop of the gin embodies the essence of Vietnam.
A design inspired by Vietnamese mythology
The gin’s uniqueness is also reflected in its packaging. The bottle, designed by Dutch designer Pim Tiemessen, is inspired by a dragon’s egg from Vietnamese mythology.
