Skull 77 The Unico

The story

Laurent Taha is the man behind Skull 77 and has a penchant for motorbikes, sports cars and cigars. The "77" does not come from Laurent's year of birth, but from the date on which the brand was founded on 7 July 2014. The cigars are made in Costa Rica in Marc's Vegas de Santiago factory, which won the Cigar Journal Award for the best Costa Rican cigar brand in 2017.

Appearance

Visually, the opulent, lightweight cigar is an absolute eye-catcher. The smooth, oily, ultra-fine-ribbed wrapper leaf ends in a braid at the head and the metallic-looking skull and crossbones band looks like it has been printed directly onto the cigar from a distance.

Characteristics

Initially, grass, hay and cashew nuts come to the fore with a finely balanced honey sweetness in the creamy smoke. Apart from the wonderfully persistent honey sweetness, which increases as the smoke progresses and ends intensively in the finale, the other flavours are rather fleeting until halfway through, after which the aftertaste improves.
