DESCRIPTION
The Vegas Robaina Famosos is an exceptional cigar that manages the balancing act between intense flavour and a medium character. The name comes from the Cuban Robaina family of tobacco growers, who have been cultivating the best and finest tobacco plants in the Vuelta Abajo for generations. The cigar in Robusto format spoils the smoker with the typical Vegas Robaina flavour: earthy, woody with a slight sweetness.
Vega Robaina
The Robaina family has been growing tobacco on their excellent vegas (tobacco fields) in Cuchillas de Barbacoa without interruption since 1845. These are located in the San Luis area, which is in the middle of the Vuelta Abajo tobacco growing zone.
The Vegas Robaina brand was introduced in 1997 in honour of all Cuban vegueros (tobacco growers), symbolised by the most famous veguero, Don Alejandro Robaina. He was already famous for his excellent wrapper leaves during his lifetime. Today, the brand and the name symbolise all the unknown vegueros whose knowledge and experience of tobacco make Habanos what they are today: sought-after top-quality products.

A brilliant smoke
I fully agree with the existing reviews.
Truly a very well-rounded, brilliant cigar, with a slightly unusual cold draw – which I find a positive thing.
Flavours of earth, wood, leather and a hint of coffee, with very good balance.
And yes, it does take a moment for the full flavour profile to come through.
Price-wise, if it weren’t a Cuban, I’d find it a bit too expensive, but as Cuba does have a certain something, I think it’s perfectly reasonable.

A good Cuban
A very successful cigar. Takes a little time to open up. Well-rounded flavour, with a hint of earthiness. Compared to other Cuban cigars, this is a very pleasant cigar. Excellent value for money. Goes perfectly with a cup of black coffee

Brilliant
One of the best Cuban cigars I’ve tried so far. It’s my favourite to date. Absolutely delicious.
