Zino Davidoff was born in Kiev in 1906, the son of a tobacconist. When he was five years old, the Davidoff family were forced to move to Geneva due to the political situation. There, his father, Henri Davidoff, opened a tobacconist’s shop. Zino Davidoff followed in his father’s footsteps and took over the business. He undertook countless journeys, during which he continually deepened his knowledge of tobacco.

Zino Davidoff invented the first humidor

Thanks to Zino’s vision, the Davidoff family installed the world’s first climate-controlled Davidoff humidor in their shop in Geneva. His invention remains a flagship feature for every tobacconist to this day. He later developed a humidification system which laid the foundations for today’s tabletop humidors.

Davidoff today

The spirit of Zino Davidoff lives on today in every Davidoff cigar and every Davidoff accessory. Davidoff cigars are regarded as the benchmark for quality in cigar production. Today, it is Hendrick Kelner, Eladio Diaz and Manuel Peralta who craft a wonderful cigar from every tobacco seed.

Davidoff humidors are handcrafted from selected materials. They are fitted with a humidity regulator that maintains the humidity at 72 per cent rHF.

Davidoff Cigars

The Davidoff cigar range comprises the classic white-label lines as well as the Discovery lines, which are made with tobacco not grown in the Dominican Republic.

Davidoff Aniversario

The Davidoff Aniversario range available today stems from the merger of the Davidoff Special range with the former Aniversario range. Unconventional harmonies create distinctive medium-strength blends – whether with the flavours of cedarwood and spices that unfold into an irresistibly creamy finish, or with warm notes of leather, nuts, black pepper and spices that blend together.

Davidoff Signature

The Davidoff Signature range is the fusion of the former Classic and Mille ranges. It pairs perfectly with elegant drinks such as champagne, so that the cigar and the drink go hand in hand. Even with a peaty, smoky whisky, the Davidoff Signature can be ideally paired without the whisky becoming too dominant.

Davidoff Grand Cru

‘Make me an offer for five sizes that don’t yet exist.’ The range of sizes that were innovative for their time – ‘Davidoff Grand Cru’ – arose from precisely this request, which Zino Davidoff made in 1946 to one of the finest cigar manufacturers. This marked the birth of a legendary cigar range.

Davidoff Millennium

The wrapper leaf for Davidoff Millenium cigars grows under the tropical sun on an estate renowned for producing the very best quality. Thanks to the very specific microclimate in the Maná region, near the Cordillera de Los Andes mountain range, there is no need to use cotton cloths. A light mist protects the plants from excessive sunlight.
