The Spanish businessman Juan López Díaz founded the brand named after him in the 1870s. Its full name is: La Flor de Juan López. Until the 1950s, it was one of the best-selling Habanos. Although less well-known worldwide today, Juan López has always had a loyal following amongst Habanos enthusiasts, particularly for the Selección No.1 and Selección No.2 sizes. A few years ago, 5THAvenue offered the Juan López Distinguidos – a now legendary size – as an ‘Edición Regional’.
The range offers a medium to full-bodied flavour, based on a rich blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco-growing region. All formats are ‘totalmente a mano, tripa larga’ – long-fillers made entirely by hand.
