About Plasencia

Nestor Plasencia was born in Cuba in 1950 and was practically born into the world of tobacco and cigars. His family had been in the tobacco business for generations and could look back on a wealth of experience in the cultivation and manufacture of cigars. In 1959, his family had to flee to Nicaragua due to the revolution and built up a new livelihood there with tobacco plantations. As a result of the Sandinista revolution in 1979, Nestor Plasencia again lost all his plantations and factories and they fled to Honduras again. There, they again cultivated new plantations and opened cigar factories. And with great success, because today they are among the most important cigar producers in Central America.

In 1986, around one million cigars were produced in their factories. Ten years later, they were already producing 33 million cigars. They are now also producing cigars in Nicaragua again.
