DESCRIPTION
The name Romeo y Julieta was used as a brand name for Habanos in 1875 and has its roots in the literary tragedy of the same name by the English writer William Shakespeare. Its balanced, aromatic blend of specially selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo area of the Pinar del Río region makes Romeo y Julieta a classic Habanos flavour of medium strength.
Linea de Oro - the crowning glory of Romeo y Julieta
The creation of this new premium line was decided to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the brand in 2020. Línea de Oro is the brand's most exclusive and elegant line. The new line consists of 3 new vitolas, two of which are parejos and a figurado, all of which are listed in the portfolio of Romeo y Julieta cigars . For the first time, a "medium to strong" flavour has been introduced within the brand.

The vitolas Dianas, Hidalgos and Nobles were selected by Habanos S.A. to establish the new line, which is presented in a high-quality case and a high-gloss lacquer finish on red-coloured sycamore wood with attention to detail. The grain of the wood is used to emphasise its natural beauty. A characteristic element of the Línea de Oro is the sloping front. It features an elegant, curved indentation with golden nuances and a metal band. Together with the small plaque and the detailed signet, it makes the case unique.

Poor
I purchased two cigars from the Línea de Oro range and stored them under ideal conditions. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with both of them. In both cases, the draw was far too tight, which significantly detracted from the smoking experience. Furthermore, the binder was damaged on both. In one cigar, this had even been hastily concealed by the band, which I find absolutely unacceptable for a product in this price range.
In terms of flavour, the cigars were certainly impressive, but the poor workmanship does not live up to the Línea de Oro’s premium reputation. For the price charged, I expect the highest quality of workmanship… which, unfortunately, was not the case here. Perhaps I will give it a third try nonetheless.
