El Baton is one of J.C. Newman’s historic brands, created by the founder, J.C. Newman, in 1914. This nickel-sized cigar was originally hand-rolled in a factory in Cleveland, Ohio, using Cuban tobacco. Although it remained popular for many years, El Baton disappeared from the market in the 1920s with the advent of machine-made cigars.
