This brand owes its origins to the tastes of the French market. Created in the 1970s, it is named after a famous street in Paris on the banks of the Seine. Quai d’Orsay cigars are made from a light yet delicately aromatic blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco-growing region. Their wrappers are characterised by the lighter colours claro (light brown) and colorado claro (medium brown). Of this little-known brand, which consisted mainly of slim-ring-gauge cigars, only the Corona Claro remains today.
The cigars are ‘totalmente a mano, tripa larga’ – long-fillers made entirely by hand.
