50 Quai d'Orsay

In spring 2017, the Quai d’Orsay brand took centre stage at the ‘Festival del Habano’. This brand was developed in 1973 specifically for the French market and, for more than four decades, was unjustifiably confined to a niche existence. A turning point came with the launch of two new cigar formats, which captivate with their mild and elegant tobacco blends, as well as a comprehensive revamp of the brand’s visual identity. The cigars and their packaging are now embellished with attractive bands and decorations produced using sophisticated printing techniques.

Quai d’Orsay No. 50

The Quai d’Orsay No. 50 measures 110 mm in length and has a ring gauge of 50, typical of a Robusto. Incidentally, the brand’s name refers to the famous street on the banks of the Seine in Paris, where SEITA, a partner of Habanos S.A., had its headquarters in the 1970s.

Tasting Report

Cigar exterior: Sturdy , oily wrapper.
Cigar construction: Medium roll, good construction.
Smoke: Creamy with a hint of sweetness. Plenty of smoke volume.
Flavour: Grass , wood, earth, toast and coffee.
Burn: Good burn
