Bohemian No. 12 The Bamboo 18.5% 700ml

In 1890, the German Louis Eppinger, the "father of bartending in Japan", created this excellent aperitif for the international guests of the historic New Grand Hotel in Yokohama. Eppinger was known above all for his extraordinary drinks, in which he combined a wide variety of ingredients to outstanding effect. The harmonious composition of dry sherry, white dry vermouth and bitters found a large fan base not only in Japan.

Around the world, "Japan's Sherry Amour", as Bamboo is also known, is enjoyed from a chilled cocktail glass, flavoured and garnished with an orange zest.

Tasting notes

Colour: Dark amber.
Aroma: Persistent, full, fruity aromas of apricot, peach and sultanas, variation of herbs and spices, with a hint of almonds and nuts.
Flavour: Wine-like, sweetish notes, paired with slightly fruity aromas, pleasantly dry, with a hint of lavender, traces of rosemary and cloves.
Finish: Soft and full on the palate, with a long finish.
Total: An elegant drink, wonderfully fresh, complex and versatile.

Preparation

Pour into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes, stir well and strain into a cocktail glass. Add a garnish to the drink. To finish, spritz the cocktail once with the flavour atomiser.
