Bohemian No. 9 The Rob Roy 32.0% 700ml

Unlike the Manhattan, the Before Dinner Drink, which was created in the 1890s, is based on a blended scotch with Italian vermouth and aromatic bitters. It probably owes its name to a Broadway play based on Sir Walter Scott's novel Rob Roy. In Scotland, however, it is also commonly named after Robert MacGregor, the Scottish Robin Hood. The story goes that the national hero always carried a flask with the same mixture with him.

Regardless of the origin of the name, we all agree that the ROB ROY should be served "straight up" in a cool cocktail glass and with an orange zest.

Tasting notes

Colour: Dark rusty brown.
Aroma: Opulent and ripe, woody notes with smoky hints, a hint of juicy sultanas and morello cherries, herbs and oranges, very fruity and intense, sweet and malty.
Flavour: Strong and bittersweet, a full body with a subtle sweetness, rich in fruit, slightly woody and smoky, with a core of sultanas and subtle traces of chocolate and herbs.
Finish: Long, with a herbal finish, juicy and full-bodied.
Total: Perfectly balanced, bittersweet.

Preparation

Pour into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes, stir well and strain into a cocktail glass. Add a garnish to the drink. To finish, spritz the cocktail once with the flavour atomiser.
