DESCRIPTION
For around 400 years and across eleven generations, the Meerapfel family has nurtured its deep connection with tobacco and the cigars produced from it. As such, Meerapfel Meir cigars are the result of immense experience and tradition, as well as a passion for exclusive premium cigars. This is the second range, named after Meir Meerapfel, who founded the Meerapfel cigar factory in the village of Untergrombach in Germany in 1876.
Super premium and extremely limited
The composition of these cigars’ blend is unknown. Nor has the location where these cigars were manufactured been officially confirmed. Given the very good relationship with Arturo Fuente, it is assumed that these super-premium cigars were produced at his factory. It is also rumoured that tobacco aged for up to 20 years was used. Only 613 boxes per size are produced each year.
Here’s what HalfWheel has to say about the Meerapfel Meir
“From the very first moment, the Meerapfel Meir Robusto exudes a sense of quality: the box is made of solid wood, the cigars are beautifully presented, and the bands are among the most intricate I’ve ever seen. All this is before you’ve even smoked the cigar, which boasts a complex, delicate and extremely well-balanced profile, with a combination of floral and powdery cocoa at the forefront, combined with pronounced pomegranate sweetness and white pepper on the finish. I wish there were a little more sweetness in the blend – particularly in the final third – but the construction was practically perfect in every respect throughout the time I spent smoking the three cigars, with only one requiring a very minor burn correction. Ultimately, the Meerapfel Meir Robusto is a very enjoyable cigar that you really ought to try for yourself.” Brooks Whittington, Halfwheel.com, 4 June 2023
