DESCRIPTION
The Black Label Lawless Robusto presents the characterful Lawless blend in a compact 5x54 format, which delivers particularly concentrated, robust roasted flavours and spicy nuances. Manufactured in Estelí, Nicaragua, the cigar features an oily Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler. The flavour profile is complex and varied, featuring dark chocolate, coffee, rye bread and nuts. Leather, cinnamon, pepper and a subtle sweetness add further depth as the cigar is smoked. The generous ring gauge of 54 delivers a pleasantly dense smoke and a well-balanced blend of strength and creaminess.
Black Label Lawless Robusto with a ring gauge of 54
The Robusto measures 127 millimetres with a ring gauge of 54 and a diameter of around 21.4 millimetres. This makes it slightly stronger than a classic 5x50 Robusto. The additional volume allows for a generous filler and contributes to a rich smoking experience. The Ecuador Habano Rosado wrapper has a reddish-brown hue and a natural oiliness. Beneath it, Nicaraguan tobaccos provide body, spice and a pronounced earthy base. The entirely hand-rolled cigar is crafted at the Fábrica Oveja Negra.
Chocolate, rye and roasted nuts
In the opening stages, dark chocolate, rye bread and nutty flavours come to the fore. These are complemented by earthy notes and coffee, which give the blend a robust foundation. As the smoke progresses, notes of cinnamon, toast and leather develop. A subtle honeyed sweetness is particularly noticeable via the retro-hale and offers an interesting contrast to the savoury components. Later on, hazelnuts, dark chocolate and an increasing peppery spice come to the fore. This gives the Robusto a dynamic quality and causes its character to change markedly as it is smoked.
A compact size offering around an hour’s enjoyment
A detailed tasting notes a smoking time of around 60 minutes for the 5x54 format. This makes the Robusto ideal for a leisurely smoking session without requiring the length of a Churchill. The strength can vary between medium and strong as the cigar is smoked, whilst the body remains full and aromatic. When smoked particularly slowly, the cigar reveals an exciting blend of dark roasted flavours, nuts, bread, leather and sweetness. It is therefore aimed primarily at connoisseurs who prefer boutique cigars with a distinct evolution and a distinctive profile.
