The Gilbert de Montsalvat 10 Years Anniversary Robusto presents the Swiss brand’s popular anniversary blend in a classic and pleasantly compact format. The recipe was originally launched as a strictly limited special edition to mark Gilbert de Montsalvat’s tenth anniversary. Due to high demand, the blend was later permanently added to the range as the Anniversary line. The new Robusto combines this success story with a format that is ideal for an enjoyable smoke lasting around 45 to 60 minutes. In terms of flavour, aficionados can expect a mild to medium-bodied profile with intense roasted notes, a delicate sweetness and a harmonious combination of bitter almonds, cocoa and dried fruit.

Measuring 127 mm in length with a ring gauge of 50, the Robusto boasts balanced proportions and a diameter of around 19.8 mm. The format offers sufficient tobacco volume for a creamy smoke, whilst remaining more compact than the already well-known Gran Robusto. Visually, the cigar features an oily, glossy wrapper from Ecuador. Beneath this, Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos are used. The careful construction ensures a smooth draw and a controlled burn, allowing the various flavours to develop evenly.

Roasted notes, bitter almonds and cocoa

On the palate, robust roasted flavours take centre stage initially. These combine with slightly sweet bitter almonds and subtle cocoa notes to create a balanced opening. Traces of dried fruit lend the profile additional depth and a pleasant natural sweetness. As the smoke progresses, coffee and nutty nuances join the mix. The Robusto now makes this distinctive blend available in a particularly classic format. Its mild to medium strength and creamy flavour profile appeal to both experienced aficionados and connoisseurs who prefer well-balanced cigars. With roasted notes, cocoa, nut, coffee and a subtle sweetness, it offers an uncomplicated yet multi-faceted enjoyment.
