Crowned Heads La Carême Robusto

Le Careme cigars were first launched in the USA in 2016 and have been available here since summer 2022. As usual with cigars from Crowned Heads, there is a fascinating story behind the naming. They are a tribute to the 19th century kitchen pioneer Marie-Antoine Careme. He lived in Paris from 1784 to 1833 and laid the foundations for today's success of refined French cuisine. His likeness can still be seen on the Médaille de l'Académie culinaire de France, for example.

Le Careme from Crowned Heads: a cigar to savour

These cigars are produced in Ernesto Perez-Carrillo's Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. in the Dominican Republic. This is also where the cigars from Four Kicks, Headley Grange and J.D. Howard Reserve for Crowned Heads are rolled. Ernesto is said to have said of this blend that it tastes almost like a chocolate soufflé! This flavour is achieved by the Connecticut Broadleaf Grade A wrapper, the Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and the Nicaraguan filler.

Le Careme impresses with its varied and harmonious flavours such as dark chocolate, roasted coffee, wood and pepper. It is ideal as a dessert after a substantial meal. Le Careme is a medium to full-bodied cigar with a complex and enjoyable smoke. The burn was straightforward and the smoke voluminous.
