Top Preisleistung!
Die PDR VLR Connecticut Churchill ist für mich eine sehr gelungene Alltagszigarre und verdient insgesamt 4 von 5 Sternen. Geschmacklich vergebe ich satte 3 Sterne, das hervorragende Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis hebt die Gesamtbewertung jedoch auf starke 4 Sterne.
Technisch überzeugt die Zigarre auf ganzer Linie. Der Abbrand verläuft gleichmässig, der Zugwiderstand ist nahezu nicht vorhanden und das Rauchvolumen bewegt sich zwischen mittel und reichlich. Auch die Asche ist kompakt und stabil, was den insgesamt hochwertigen Eindruck unterstreicht.
Geschmacklich präsentiert sie sich angenehm mild und ausgewogen. Cremige und leicht holzige Aromen stehen im Vordergrund, begleitet von einer weichen, dezenten Süsse. Hinzu kommt eine sehr feine Schärfe, die für meinen Geschmack von den nussigen Aromen herrührt und dem Profil eine schöne Tiefe verleiht, ohne jemals aufdringlich zu wirken. Trotz ihrer milden Aromatik sollte man den Nikotingehalt nicht unterschätzen. Sie bleibt zwar jederzeit angenehm zu rauchen, bringt aber mehr Stärke mit, als man zunächst erwarten würde.
