Wellauer's Balkan Mixture Pipe Tobacco - 50g tin

Wellauer’s Balkan Mixture Pipe Tobacco – 50g Tin is a robust, spicy blend in the classic Balkan style – ideal for anyone looking for an authentic, smoky and spicy pipe smoking experience without any added flavourings. Unlike many ‘standard’ English blends, Oriental tobacco often takes centre stage here: dry and spicy, slightly herbaceous and very aromatic. Added to this is Latakia for the typical cool smokiness, as well as Virginia, which balances the whole with a hint of natural sweetness. When smoked slowly in a pipe, the Balkan Mixture comes across as mature, deep and yet surprisingly harmonious. Just right for the evening, after a meal, or whenever you fancy a more intense, classic blend.

Balkan character: Oriental spice meets Latakia depth

Wellauer’s Balkan Mixture thrives on the interplay of its components: Oriental tobaccos provide the elegant spice and the typical ‘dry’ texture, Latakia brings the woody, leathery smokiness and adds depth, whilst Virginia rounds off the blend and contributes a subtle, natural tobacco sweetness. The result is a complex smoke that develops as you smoke it: initially spicy and smoky, then becoming increasingly rounded and ‘darker’, with warm woody notes and a pleasant, tart elegance. The room note is distinctly classic: tobly smoky and pronounced – best enjoyed in the privacy of one’s own space or amongst like-minded people. The cut is designed as a mixture/ribbon and is therefore easy to pack; with a brief airing before packing, the tobacco lights particularly easily and burns steadily.
