You can certainly tell that about the Bongani. Fortunately, no attempt was made to create an overly specialised blend with an exotic flair just to appeal to a handful of connoisseurs. Instead, the focus was very much on solid craftsmanship, resulting in a cigar that simply hits the spot. It’s intriguing enough for a cigar with a pioneering character, yet pleasantly balanced in aroma and flavour. The tobaccos, particularly the Cameroonian wrapper, are excellent and are every bit as good as those from the big brands. The price is absolutely reasonable, and anyone looking to treat themselves to something a bit different from the ‘Caribbean mainstream’ will get their money’s worth!
