La Estrella
DESCRIPTION
The La Estrella Polar Gigante combines an impressive 6x60 format with a pleasantly approachable and balanced character. Manufactured in Honduras, it features an international tobacco blend with an Ecuadorian wrapper, an Indonesian binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Colombia. The large ring gauge ensures a cool smoke and plenty of volume, whilst allowing the flavours to unfold calmly and harmoniously. Coffee, chocolate and wood form the flavour base, complemented by spices, leather and a subtle natural sweetness. This makes the Gigante ideal for long, leisurely moments of enjoyment.
La Estrella Polar Gigante in the impressive 6x60 format
Measuring around 152 millimetres in length, with a diameter of 23.8 millimetres and a ring gauge of 60, the Gigante has a stately appearance. The large burn surface promotes a slow and comparatively cool burn. At the same time, it produces a pleasantly rich smoke volume. Despite its size, the strength remains in the mild to medium range, making it significantly more accessible than the robust format might initially suggest. Especially when smoked at a leisurely pace, it offers prolonged enjoyment with a harmonious development.
International blend with aged tobaccos
The Ecuadorian wrapper encloses an Indonesian binder and long-filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and Colombia. The combination of tobaccos from different countries lends the blend a varied yet uncomplicated character. The tobaccos have been carefully fermented and aged, allowing the spice to blend harmoniously into the overall profile. The result is a cigar that offers sufficient aromatic depth for experienced connoisseurs, whilst remaining appealing to lovers of milder cigars.
Coffee, chocolate and subtle spice
Initially, coffee and a gentle note of chocolate take centre stage. As the cigar progresses, wood and light spices come to the fore. Subtle leather notes and a caramel-like sweetness add further depth and round off the roasted flavours. Thanks to its broad format, the individual components come across as particularly smooth and well-balanced. Towards the end, the spiciness increases slightly without the cigar losing its approachable character. Its long smoking time makes the Gigante an ideal companion for quiet evenings and leisurely moments of enjoyment.
