The Trinidad Corcel combines the time-honoured elegance of the Cuban brand Trinidad with a modern and unusual format. The cigar was launched in 2026 as a special vitola to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse. The name ‘Corcel’, Spanish for a noble or spirited horse, echoes this symbolism and stands for strength, freedom and endurance. This Habano is crafted entirely by hand using long-filler tobaccos from the famous Vuelta Abajo region in Pinar del Río. The result is a well-balanced, medium-strength cigar with the typically elegant Trinidad flavour profile and a particularly creamy development.

Trinidad Corcel in the exclusive Patricios format

Measuring 135 mm in length and with a ring gauge of 55, the Trinidad Corcel features a specially created format known by the factory name ‘Patricios’. The comparatively large ring gauge ensures a full-bodied yet pleasantly cool smoking experience. Visually, the pigtail at the head of the cigar – characteristic of Trinidad – is particularly striking. The mature, reddish-brown wrapper has a silky sheen and emphasises the overall impression of high quality. Habanos states a smoking time of approximately 90 minutes, making the Corcel ideal for a leisurely moment of enjoyment.

Cuban tobaccos from Vuelta Abajo

Like all Habanos from the Trinidad brand, the Corcel is also crafted entirely by hand using a long-filler construction. Selected tobacco leaves from the renowned Vuelta Abajo region in Pinar del Río are used for the filler and binder. The Trinidad brand is known for an aromatic and medium-bodied style, where elegance and balance take precedence over sheer intensity. This philosophy is particularly evident in the Corcel. The generous ring gauge allows the tobacco flavours to unfold in all their complexity, whilst ensuring a smooth, harmonious smoking experience.

Honey, wood and subtle roasted notes

On the palate, the Trinidad Corcel opens with delicate notes of honey, which blend with savoury and woody flavours. The smoke is fresh, balanced and pleasant. As the cigar progresses, the tobacco flavour intensifies and is accompanied by subtle roasted notes. This development adds depth without overshadowing the cigar’s elegant character. In the final third, the mouthfeel becomes increasingly creamy and smooth. The medium strength remains well controlled throughout, ensuring a long, pleasant finish.
