The company relies predominantly on copper stills manufactured in England. Diplomatico Planas Ron Blanco Extra Añejo is a blended rum, comprising half stronger rums from the copper stills and half lighter, less potent rums distilled in column stills. It is aged for at least six years in oak casks, some of which previously held malt whiskies or bourbon. After ageing, it is filtered through activated charcoal, giving it a clear colour.
